Acclaimed stand-up comedian will join the Freebirds as a "Marketing Player" and take an official at-bat during the July 21 game against the Boise Hawks.
The Yuba-Sutter Freebirds are bringing a whole new meaning to entertainment this summer.
On Tuesday, July 21, acclaimed stand-up comedian Joe List will officially join the Freebirds roster as a Marketing Player and take the field during the team's game against the Boise Hawks at Bryant Field. As part of the night's festivities, List will suit up in a Freebirds uniform and receive an official at-bat during the game.
Known for his sharp observational comedy and dry wit, List has become one of stand-up's most recognizable performers. He's released several acclaimed comedy specials, appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Late Show with David Letterman, Conan, and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and is the co-host of the popular Tuesdays with Stories podcast alongside comedian Mark Normand.
"We're always looking for ways to create unforgettable experiences for our fans, and having Joe List take an official at-bat certainly qualifies," said Freebirds General Manager Harrison Shapiro. "Joe is one of the funniest comedians working today, and we're excited to welcome him to Bryant Field for what should be a truly unique night of baseball."
The fun doesn't stop there. July 21 is also $2 Tuesday, with $2 hot dogs, $2 beers, and select $2 tickets, making it one of the best values of the season.
Whether Joe List records a hit or simply provides plenty of laughs, fans won't want to miss this one-of-a-kind evening when comedy meets baseball.
First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m. as the Freebirds take on the Boise Hawks at Bryant Field, for tickets and more information please visit FreebirdsBaseball.com.
